Methodology

Eligibility: Delaware wrestlers only; 2025–26 seniors are excluded.
Style: Only folkstyle events are considered.
Evidence window: Bout results count only after the 2026 DIAA Individual State Tournament (Feb. 27, 2026). In-season duals before states are not used for bout scoring. Only high school–equivalent events are considered; 15U or other age-group divisions are not counted when a high school class is available at the event.
State place: 2026 DIAA individual placement is the primary school-year signal. Within the same weight class, a better state place always ranks ahead of a worse place.
TrackWrestling Rank Value: Public TW profile Rank Value is included in the composite to help separate wrestlers across weights.
National rankings: Public national rankings (when available) elevate wrestlers above those without a national ranking.
Head-to-head: Recent post-state wins over Delaware state placers move a wrestler ahead of that peer unless same-weight state place already decides the order.
Post-state quality: Out-of-state and higher-tier folkstyle events (NHSCA, Super 32–level fields, national duals, and similar) weigh more than soft local competition. Skipping nationals is not a demotion — it only forgoes upside.
