Race to the State Duals Playoffs
DIAA State Dual Team Championships. This is not a statewide win–loss race. Each division’s field is eight teams: two automatic conference champions and six at-large selections.
The field
- Division I: Blue Hen Flight A champion, Henlopen North champion, and six at-large teams.
- Division II: Blue Hen Flight B champion, Henlopen South champion, and six at-large teams.
Diamond State, independents (including Salesianum and Delaware Military Academy), and every other conference have no automatic bid. Those schools can only make it as at-large teams.
Who decides
The DIAA Boys Wrestling Committee selects the at-large teams and seeds the bracket 1 through 8. Every school that wants to be considered must apply — including the automatic qualifiers — to the DIAA Executive Director by the noon Friday deadline in early February. Only a DIAA member school in good standing that sponsors wrestling is eligible. The committee can rule a team ineligible.
There is no published point formula. The listed criteria are:
- Head-to-head competition
- Regular-season results against common opponents
- Strength of schedule
- Additional information on the application (coaches are told to include anything that helps)
The application asks for dual and tournament results, overall record, in-state record, best three opponents, best opponent beaten, and a copy of the full schedule.
Once the eight are in
Each division is a traditional 8-team bracket (1 vs 8, 4 vs 5, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6). If fewer than eight teams apply, the #1 seed gets a bye, then #2. Brackets do not change after the tournament starts. Quarterfinals are at the higher seed; semifinals and finals are on Saturday at a host school.

This board is an unofficial Wrestle Delaware projection from dual results. It is not the official field. The committee still decides who qualifies and how they are seeded.
